Mesa was clever enough to fore see the use of the phrase go air and registered their subsidiary with the name. As a part of the promotional program and frequent flyers, the flyer is awarded a 500 miles token for every flight he takes with go airline, and when the mileage exceeds beyond 50,000 miles, he is the recipient of a free return ticket with the go airlines.
In the recent times, a lot of discrepancies have been reported with various travel agents, who use the term go air to sell the package and the clientele when seated with another airline, complains of the ill service and the fraudulent package.
Simultaneously, many people end up at these agents, asking for go airlines in particular where as the agents clear that the slogan was being used as an attraction factor and not to promote the go airlines which is a subsidiary of the mesa air group of Honolulu.
Now, mesa air group is planning to launch a case in order to protect their right over the name go airlines and that the name is not to be used in promotional campaigns other than that for the go airlines of the mesa air group itself. The case is still under compilation and more than a lawful one, it is getting popular for the absurdity of the situation and is indeed another popularity stunt for the go airline, mesa airlines.
